Guns and Ammo to Bring
20 or 12 gauge shotguns are recommended and a modified choke is best most of the time. The lightest load we allow in a 12 gauge in a 2 3/4" shell is 1 1/4 oz. of shot and 3 3/4 drams. Three inch magnums are not recommended for 12 gauge but are recommended for 20 gauge shotguns. Four and five shot lead is recommended and nickel or copper plated shot is better. Steel shot is not recommended or required on the lands we hunt.
Clothing to Bring
Appropriate clothing to wear during the day would include a light jacket, a medium weight jacket and a heavy coat. Good, sturdy walking boots are a must. Jeans or canvas hunting pants will keep your legs protected during walking in the fields.
Dogs
You are welcome to bring your own well trained dog OR your dog that will stay close (30 yards) to you without you continuously shouting or blowing a whistle. If we end up with several dogs in the group we may limit the dogs to 2 or 3 working at one time and rotate the dogs. If your dog will not stay close and is or has compromised the group's hunt you will be asked to put him up. Your dog does not need to be a fantastic dog to be allowed to hunt; we just ask that the dog works close without a lot of noise.
