Fine Dog Work

The ringneck pheasant is the craftiest game bird in the world. Watching the work of an experienced dog perform well in the field brings a whole new dimension to ringneck hunting. We are proud of the work our dogs and our guides dogs are capable of both before and after the shot. Countless hours are spent training obedience, marking and retrieving skills but only pure experience for which there is no substitute can really "make" an extremely fine bird dog.

Dogs are trained to quarter inside of shotgun range. We use both flushing and pointing breeds with Labradors being the majority, some of which point also. You will see young dogs still learning the ropes, but under control, to upper level hunt test dogs that are capable of blind retrieves as far as you can see, to staunch pointing dogs if you prefer the thrill of flushing the bird yourself.

Whether it's a simple 30 yard retrieve out of heavy cover, a glider that floats 300 yards out over a pasture to fall out of the sky or a cripple that hits the ground running our dogs have the training, ability, experience and bird sense to perform.
